product integrity
To assure the integrity of our products, we work to relentlessly adhere to responsible business practices.

Here are just some of the ways in which we demonstrate our commitment to product integrity day-to-day:

FSC-Certification: We have completed FSC chain-of-custody (COC) certification for our operating plants. Products bearing the FSC logo guarantee that the wood used in manufacturing came from a forest certified by independent third parties for practicing responsible forestry. Certification is already complete in 17 facilities in Asia and Europe and the remaining sites in the Americas, Europe and Asia are in the FSC alignment process.

Chemical Controls: We have developed a Restricted Substances List (RSL) to regulate substances that may potentially be used in the production of our products. This comprehensive guide outlines prohibited materials and chemical concentration limits in order to avoid health hazards, harm to the environment and/or a negative impact on the quality/performance of a product. We are also identifying chemicals that may become banned, restricted or otherwise unavailable to ensure early compliance with the European REACH (Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals) regulation.

Regulatory Compliance: We incorporate regulatory requirements early in the design process as well. This includes a review against a broad number of regulations, integrating key requirements such as:

  • RoHs, which restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment
  • WEEE, which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets to manage waste of electrical and electronic equipment
  • CPSC, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which regulates more than 15,000 types of consumer products to address safety risks
  • FDA, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which regulates human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, food supply, cosmetics and products that emit radiation
  • California Proposition 65, also known as the "Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986," was created to protect California citizens and the state's drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals
