Crafted right here in Ontario and anchored by our Avery Dennison Toronto operations, our team was chosen to bring a meaningful piece of Canadian culture to life.
On August 23, 2016, millions of fans tuned in to watch The Tragically Hip perform their final concert, a historic moment in Canadian music history. To mark the 10th anniversary of that night, Avery Dennison served as the official licensee and manufacturing partner to produce an exclusive, limited-edition apparel collection celebrating the milestone.
Uniting Three Pillars of Canadian Culture
Uniting three distinct partners, the program bridges music, sports, and lifestyle apparel. The Tragically Hip have spent over three decades crafting music deeply connected to Canadian geography and identity. The Canadian Football League (CFL) serves as an athletic cornerstone, bringing communities together across the country through long-standing regional rivalries. Completing the collaboration is Province of Canada, a lifestyle brand focused on clean design, local manufacturing, and authentic storytelling.

Produced in Ontario with Embelex™ Solutions
A program centered on Canadian heritage required an authentic local manufacturing approach. Every garment decoration across the line was executed across our regional Ontario production operations. Delivering high-quality branding solutions through our Embelex™ portfolio allowed the program to thrive, giving our team the precise decoration capabilities needed to execute premium, durable graphics across every piece in the collection.
Executing production locally ensured complete operational oversight, supported domestic manufacturing, and delivered a true "Made in Canada" collection. Designed to offer lasting value for collectors, the program is ultra-exclusive, with each team store offering fewer than 100 hoodies and 100 t-shirts, alongside select online availability through Province of Canada.

Delivering Value Across Stakeholders
Managing a multi-partner collaboration requires aligning distinct brand priorities into a cohesive campaign. As the official licensee, Avery Dennison acted as the operational anchor, turning initial concepts into finished, retail-ready apparel. For The Tragically Hip, the program delivered a high-quality commemorative line honoring their anniversary. For the CFL, it created a new crossover channel connecting sports fans with music and lifestyle fashion. For Province of Canada, it offered an expanded national platform backed by enterprise-grade licensing and production support.
