CNK Group Joins the Movement with TrafficJet™

"Unable to travel and give local installation and training, the challenge for Avery Dennison was to remotely train a customer that had no prior digital printing experience."

CNK Group—a customer of Avery Dennison for 10 years—has been working in the safety and traffic sign segment since 2003 with presence in Guatemala and El Salvador. They used to work mostly with screen printing until they discovered TrafficJet and its many advantages. In April of 2020 they decided to join the movement and amidst full lockdowns the first TrafficJet Xpert arrived in Guatemala. Unable to travel and give local installation and training, the challenge for Avery Dennison was to remotely train a customer that had no prior digital printing experience.

The training was not easy however, as the language barrier complicated the remote installation. With the customer speaking Spanish and the Avery Dennison technical service team speaking English, more than 10 people were involved in the remote installation. The conference calls lasted three days. “One of the greatest examples of teamwork I've ever seen”, said Leonel Leiva, the owner of CNK Group.

Jose Beteta, who is the distributor of Avery Dennison Reflective Solutions in Guatemala, explains: “Installing a TrafficJet at our customer CNK Group was not as simple as installing a printer at your home—where you buy and install it is rather a complex matter”. They were very satisfied with Avery Dennison's support and the way the professional tech service team had handled the remote installation.

CNK Group Operator, Oscar Santos, added: “I was worried because nobody knew anything about that type of printer. The training was in English so it was a bit difficult to understand, but thanks to the manuals, patience, and the local team's translation, it was easy to operate the TrafficJet and we passed this situation with great success.”

After more than a year working with TrafficJet CNK Group has taken full advantage of its capabilities—avoiding wasted materials, personalizing traffic signs, and being creative with different types of projects.

Talking about their process with TrafficJet in the past year, they affirmed: “It was a really good experience—moving from screen printing to digital printing was an extremely big step”.

Compared with the traditional methods, which have many more steps and cause difficulty for personalization such as logos, symbols or any image into the signs; the operator said: “We see the frame of screen printing and strong smell from its inks and we don’t want to touch them again”. The digital printing gave them the flexibility to make any type of signs with just five simple steps and only one operator. The CNK Group owner added; “We gain better lead time, productivity, a cleaner sign shop, and we are offering the best warranties to the market”.

For Avery Dennison any challenge becomes an opportunity. The success of our customers and their satisfaction is our main goal. Are you ready to join the movement?
