As consumers searching for the best product or service, we are naturally inclined to be drawn to organizations and professionals who are well trained and qualified. Furnace repair, new roof construction, bathroom remodel, or car repair, to name a few.

The same holds true for consumers and businesses looking for specialized car wraps, protective window tint or paint protection films, or printed wraps for fleet or promotional vehicles.

Avery Dennison clearly understands this premise, having carved out an industry-leading curriculum that trains installers, from beginners to experts, in the artistic and practical application of restyling automotive wraps and films.

It’s a very simple, yet powerful premise—the more you learn, the better you get, the faster you can work, and the more money you can earn.

In fact, studies show that employee training is one of the most important ways to drive productivity in the workplace. Well-trained employees will not only work efficiently but they will be happier at work. Employee training is not as simple as sending your managers to a weekend leadership conference. The training should be tailored to both your organization’s needs and your employees’ preferences.

Avery Dennison understands this. During 2024, Avery Dennison trained over 950 installers throughout North America, from the very basics to sophisticated and advanced car wrapping. What we learned from those sessions should be serious food for thought for any installer looking to open his/her own shop, or expand.

In a nutshell, training makes you better. When you’re better you work faster, your service is more in demand, and you can become more profitable.

One key takeaway that sometimes gets lost in the world of car wrapping and protective films: It’s not an exact science. Like any craftsman, car wrapping, for instance, is truly an art and the subtle nuances that can lead to success are clearly tied to professional training, advanced education, and certification. It is craftsmanship that is mastered over time—like an old family recipe that tastes just right, however, has been tweaked and perfected over time. You work at it and work at it until you get it just right.

The proof is in the numbers. During 2024, Avery Dennison class participants walked into our training sessions not necessarily confident in their abilities. Following training, we saw a 242% improvement in their installation confidence! Wow!

Training sessions are held at wrap shops throughout the US, which offers installers more opportunity to find a class near them. In light of the tremendous value participants found during their training in 2024, they want more! More advanced training, opportunities for one-on-one training with instructors, and a specialized emphasis on marketing, pricing, processes, and running a business.

Avery Dennison offers comprehensive installation training, including vehicle / color change wraps, PPF, and window film applications. With 90% of the time dedicated to hands-on training, participants can expect to learn techniques and gain the knowledge needed to lower their install times and increase profits.

Supreme Wrapping Film / Color Change

The Supreme Wrapping Film Training focuses solely on installing professional quality color change vehicle wraps. Attendees learn a wide variety of techniques to lower install times to 1-2 days, lower than the industry average of 4-5 days.

Delacie took the two-day course and spoke highly of his experience particularly when it comes to specialized techniques and working with the film, “I feel like Avery Dennison gave me the experience that I need to actually go out and have the confidence to start wrapping on my own.”

Anthony and Amy are beginners to wrapping film and attended a Supreme Wrapping Film class to take them to the next level. “What I like about Avery Dennison is I think the product stretches itself, it heals. It's a great product, easy to work with. I feel like this training definitely gave us the edge on other competitors. It's something you can't find on YouTube or TikTok. Definitely the small techniques and the hands-on is definitely, definitely worth it.”

Full Print Digital / Commercial Wraps

The Full Print Digital class focuses on installation skills to wrap walls, floors, cut vinyl and vehicles with commercial digital full print wraps. This class is for those new to the wrap industry or for experienced installers in flat signage looking to get into the more challenging vehicle wraps.

At a recent training session, Daniel comments on how this session alone will help him improve his skills. “My level of experience before this workshop was about six months of flat signage and printing vinyl. A lot of tips and tricks that he showed us were very beneficial because I didn't know what I was doing.This is probably the best workshop that I've had a chance to touch. And yes, I would most definitely recommend it to anybody that I've come across, including our business.”

Certified Wrap Installer Exam (CWI)

An installer with CWI garners respect, instills confidence and leads to more income via branding and being listed on the Avery Dennison “Find an Installer” page. It is highly recommended that anyone taking the certification exam has installed at least 10 full wraps - color change or commercial wraps.

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

The PPF class focuses on the installation of paint protection films to a vehicle's OEM paint to protect it from road debris, etc. Whether you are a new installer with no knowledge of PPF or you have been installing PPF or vinyl for years, this training provides the knowledge and practice needed to grow your skills in the industry. This program is built to allow you as much hands-on time as possible with 90% of the training consisting of live demonstrations and real-world practice on three different cars.

Automotive Window Film

The Automotive Window Film class where you learn to correctly tint car windows. No prior experience is required for this two-day training. With almost the entire day dedicated to hands-on installation, you will learn the techniques of cutting, installing, and heat shrinking to apply window film to all types of vehicles.

Architectural Window Film

Two-day training featuring Avery Dennison interior and exterior solar window films. The class also includes an introduction to our 4 mil and 8 mil security films. Learn installation techniques as well as the business behind offering architectural window film services.

The Advanced Supreme Wrapping Film Class

Our highest level of wrap training, available only to current Avery Dennison Certified Wrap Installers (CWIs) and featuring two instructors per training. Learn high level tips/tricks for not only installing wrapping film but growing your business.
