What attracted you to your chosen work?

That’s a great question and there’s no single answer. I work in marketing communications for the automotive industry and my passion for cars has been with me since childhood. I loved watching races, especially Formula One, and was inspired by movies like The Fast and the Furious, which showcased car customization, the thrill of making a car your own.

The idea of customizing a car, from boosting speed to adding body kits and creating a unique personality, always fascinated me. As a kid, I collected car magazines, toys and even filled my sketchbooks with car drawings. That passion naturally carried into adulthood, which is why I’m proud to work with Avery Dennison’s Graphic Solutions, promoting automotive customization and wrapping.

On the other side, I’ve always loved communication: being creative, crafting content and managing projects. Studying communication management was a natural fit. When I started my graduation internship at Avery Dennison, I had no prior knowledge of car wrapping, but I quickly fell in love with the business. It felt like the work chose me and I embraced it wholeheartedly.

What skills did you develop early that are still useful today?

One of the most important skills I developed early on, and use daily, is empathy. Understanding how to communicate and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and adapting to their working styles has made my interactions smoother and more effective.

Flexibility is another essential skill. At Avery Dennison, being adaptable is key to managing projects and delivering results, especially when priorities shift unexpectedly. This mindset helps me navigate challenges with ease.

Lastly, persuasiveness has been crucial. Effective communication means creating content that resonates with the target audience and motivates action. While I’m always refining this skill, it’s been fundamental from the very start of my career. I believe adapting to others rather than expecting them to adapt to you leads to better collaboration and results.

How have you grown in your career at Avery Dennison?

It’s been quite a journey! In July 2025, I’ll mark seven years with Avery Dennison, including my internship. I started as an intern and was hired immediately afterward. While I’ve always been part of Graphic Solutions, my role has evolved significantly over time.

I began as a junior marketing communication specialist, handling a smaller scope of projects across both architectural and automotive segments, with a strong focus on digital marketing. Today, as a senior marketing communications specialist focused on the automotive industry, my responsibilities have become much more strategic. I lead and contribute to high-impact projects, such as influencer marketing, collaborating with influencers to develop custom wrapping color ranges that are launched globally. Partnerships with names like Yiannimize and SuperCar Blondie have significantly boosted Avery Dennison’s global presence among car owners and installers.

Beyond project work, I’ve also grown into a mentorship role, managing and supporting interns. I’m grateful to Avery Dennison for the chance to pay forward the support I received early in my career. Watching these young talents develop, and even some of them continuing with the company, gives me immense pride and motivation.

What's the biggest stretch opportunity you've taken on?

There have been many, but if I had to choose one, it would be the marketing campaign we did with Yiannimize last year. Even as a student, I dreamed of working on projects with well-known influencers, so this was a huge milestone for me.

Collaborating directly with Yiannimize, developing a product together, and tailoring our messaging to his audience was both exciting and eye-opening. It taught me a great deal about crafting content strategically and showed me the incredible impact we can achieve by partnering with the right people.

What role has mentorship played in your career?

Mentorship has played a foundational role in my career. My former manager, Patrick, not only hired me as an intern but also became a key mentor in my early professional journey. I’m part of Avery Dennison largely because of his influence.

Patrick truly inspired me to pursue a path in this industry. Watching how he led his team, managed campaigns and solved problems with energy and thoughtfulness made a lasting impression. He created an environment where I felt confident, supported, and safe to ask questions, share insecurities, and seek feedback.

Even today, he remains a mentor to me. His guidance continues to shape how I approach challenges and growth. That’s why I believe mentorship is absolutely essential; it's had a profound impact on both my confidence and career direction.

I had no prior knowledge of car wrapping, but I quickly fell in love with the business. It felt like the work chose me and I embraced it wholeheartedly.

What's the best career decision you've ever made?

The best career decision I’ve ever made was saying yes to an internship at Avery Dennison. At the time, I had two other offers on the table, but choosing Avery Dennison turned out to be the most pivotal choice I’ve made.

That decision was largely influenced by the talent acquisition team, who encouraged me to interview with the company, and with Patrick, who would later become a key partner. Looking back, accepting that opportunity set the foundation for my professional growth and personal development. It’s a decision that has shaped my entire career, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.

As you think about the next steps in your career, what are the most important actions you plan to take?

That’s a great question and a bit of a tricky one. As I consider the next steps in my career, the most important action I can take is to continue learning as much as possible. I truly believe that if I stay committed to what I’m doing, growth and progression will come naturally.

I plan to continue asking questions, no matter how simple they might seem, because understanding something fully is always better than pretending to know. In my experience, people are generally open to helping, and that willingness to ask has served me well.

Another key focus is consistently delivering strong results and approaching every task with passion. I try to make each project meaningful, either by enjoying the process or using it as an opportunity to learn something new. That mindset has helped keep me motivated and continue to grow.

Networking is also vital. Building strong relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and customers helps broaden my perspective and opens new doors. And finally, I make a point to consistently communicate my enthusiasm for the business and the work I do.

For the past seven years, this combination of learning, curiosity, passion and connection has shaped my growth and I believe continuing down this path will lead to even more progress.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I absolutely love being around fancy cars and engaging directly with our target audience at car wrapping shops. Visiting automotive events where we showcase our materials is always a highlight. Honestly, I enjoy almost every aspect of my work, including creating commercials for Avery Dennison’s Supreme Wrapping Film when introducing new colors.

From influencer marketing to full 360-degree campaigns, including commercials, photography, brochures, and social media, I find the entire creative process exciting. Whether it’s shooting a commercial in a Spanish desert or under the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, I love collaborating with directors, copywriters, and other creatives while constantly learning.

The most rewarding part is seeing our work come to life, like spotting a wrapped car in Amsterdam or Sofia that I helped promote, or knowing that thousands of people at major trade shows like SEMA have seen and responded to our content. It’s a proud, almost surreal feeling to realize our work has real, public impact.

In short, I genuinely enjoy every aspect of my job and always find ways to keep it interesting.
