Back in August this year I attended the opening of our Innovation and Knowledge Center in Pune, India - an expansion of our facilities to celebrate our 20 year anniversary in the country. The center is one of 7 global Innovation and Knowledge centers, each of which represent the specific needs of their region as well as having unique perspectives and specialist material science expertise.
It is through these centers that we see how diversity and inclusion enables us to think bigger and be more ambitious in our breakthroughs. Our teamwork, both regionally and globally, results in solutions that are much greater than if one region worked alone.
And the inclusion of different perspectives expands past our own scientists and includes those of our suppliers and our customers. In October this year the new Pune Innovation and Knowledge Centre welcomed our first customers from ASEAN, who spent three days at the center to attend the Converting College - to learn more about the making of a label - from pre-press, printing and converting - through to label application. It is through these collaborative sessions that we learn so much from each other and which often results in the development of next generation products.
It is this collaboration, curiosity and external focus that encourages our team to find the next material science breakthrough - as an example the team in Pune are focussed on finding more sustainable solutions for to help us achieve our 2025 sustainability goals and to enable us to further impact the future of our industry.
I certainly look forward to returning in the new year to discover the progress that they have made!
