What attracted you to your chosen work?
My old friend talked a lot about a great company called Avery Dennison. She couldn’t praise it enough. Always spoke about the business trips, training, great skill set development and exposure to great career opportunities. This sparked my interest, and I thought, well, I’m up for the challenge and adventure!

What skills did you develop early that are still useful today?
I must say that the skills I developed came with time, experience and constant curiosity. Among those skills are project management, leadership, strong and clear communication, time management, strategic thinking, empathy and building strong relationships.

How have you grown in your career at Avery Dennison?
Avery Dennison is an inspiring place to work and grow your career. My career developed from Data Solution Specialist, through Inside Sales to Sales Account Manager at present. My passion, open mindset, never-ending self-drive as well as curiosity, asking questions fearlessly and thinking outside the box brought me to the experience I'm proud to have at this stage of my career.

What's the biggest stretch opportunity you've taken on?

The biggest stretch opportunity I've taken on was the current job role, where my main task was to build my territory's sales strategies from scratch and develop a successful pipeline and business. Another big stretch opportunity was to build strong and successful relationships with the current customer base as well as develop new relationships through networking. Both of those tasks required a lot of patience and determination.

What role has mentorship played in your career?

Having Marco Franzetti and Pam Hone as my mentors led to great self-discovery, which helped me to continue to grow my career. Through their feedback, I grew professionally but also personally which empowers me to take my career to where I want it to be in the future. Mentorship fostered building my confidence and knowledge and identifying my strengths and weaknesses, which led me to a greater self-awareness.

I'm inspired by the amount of learning I was meant to achieve and the skills I had to improve.

What’s the best career decision you’ve ever made?

Moving away from hospitality to the industry and company continues to keep me on my toes and challenges me every single day. I'm inspired by the amount of learning I was meant to achieve and the skills I had to improve.

As you think about the next steps in your career, what are the most important actions you plan to take?

The next step in my career will be to seek end-of-the-year feedback to understand if I'm ready for career advancement. I continue to educate myself by taking various courses related to my career aspirations as well as researching literature related to commercial aspects like relationship building, emotional intelligence, forming habits, strategic thinking and planning, negotiation skills etc., and most importantly, further exposure to wider business opportunities and conversations where I will be able to acquire more knowledge and skills to equip me for my future career better.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I enjoy the most beautiful relationships I had the pleasure to develop during my time at Avery Dennison, and I’m positive that with time, those relationships will continue to grow, and we will continue to inspire each other to grow.
