The ADsolutely Green Challenge

Overview

The ADsolutely Green Challenge is a business innovation competition that seeks to engage final-year students and recent graduates in a quest for sustainable business solutions that will empower Avery Dennison and the community where we operate in ASEAN for a greener and more resilient future.

This competition is open to young talents from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, who are in their final year of study or have graduated with less than 2 years of working experience in the following fields:

Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics

Business, Marketing 

Logistics, Supply Chain

Communication, Psychology

Competition Phases

Complete four competition phases to win the cash prizes

Phase 1: Building Foundation on the Industry, Business and Sustainability (January 2024)

Phase 2: National Heats (January – February 2024)

Phase 3: ASEAN Innovation Workshop and Networking (February 2024)

Phase 4: ASEAN Finals (March 2024)

What's in it for you?

Cash prizes and recognition: 
The winning team takes away USD2500 and the finalists get participation certificates.

Career Opportunity: 
Finalists get an opportunity to work with AD by enrolling on the APAC LEAD (Leadership Experience and Accelerated Development) Graduate Program 2024.

Learning opportunity:
Understand and learn about the business of a Fortune 500 company.

Training:
Train on innovation and business-related topics and technical skills

Experience:
Gain practical and hands-on experience in addressing real-world business challenges, developing ideas into business plans; and offering hybrid experience: in both in-person and virtual formats.

Teamwork and Networking: 
Meet and work with participants and AD teams from different backgrounds, cultures and countries in ASEAN to complete individual and group challenges

Fun: 
Visit places like Avery Dennison’s office, and manufacturing plants and play team-building games

Apply for the competition:

1. Record a 3-minute video presenting the solutions for one of the following two challenges

- Challenge 1: You're in charge of organizing an event, but there's a twist – it must generate zero waste. How would you plan and execute a large-scale gathering, such as a music festival, wedding, or conference, without producing any waste? 

- Challenge 2: Consider the challenges of sustainability in space exploration. How would you apply circular economy principles to ensure sustainable resource use and waste management on a long-term space mission, like a journey to Mars?  

2. Upload the video in English to TikTok using your account, make sure you start with the choice of your challenge and continue with your response to the challenge. No self-introduction is required.

3. Complete the application form (here) and provide the video link on the form

Selection

1. The video will be evaluated by a panel of judges made up of Avery Dennison’s experts and company leaders against three criteria: Creativity, Content and Clarity 

2. Upon being selected for the competition, you will be informed via email. Only selected applicants will be notified.
