What attracted you to your chosen work?

The company's values—excellence, courage, integrity, sustainability, and innovation—definitely drew me to my chosen work. These values deeply resonate with me and reflect some of my own. Being part of a company that shares these values significantly influenced my decision.

What skills did you develop early that are still useful today?

I've always been eager to learn. This curious nature has translated into a strong "always ask" mentality, which has been instrumental throughout my career. I'm fearless in asking questions, challenging assumptions, and actively seeking out opportunities for improvement. This approach has allowed me to consistently identify areas where processes can be optimized, ultimately leading to positive results.

How have you grown in your career at Avery Dennison?

Over the past three years at AD, I have had the privilege of experiencing exceptional career growth, transitioning from an Internal Communications Intern to a Junior Digital Marketing Analyst and then to a Mid-level Digital Marketing Analyst for Latin America. During this journey, I have spearheaded the establishment of our brand's digital presence across the region, leading to high-impact campaigns that have significantly expanded our industry.

My passion for sustainability further fueled my growth, leading me to the exciting opportunity of assuming the role of Business Partner for the regional Sustainability team. In this capacity, I serve as a strategic connection between the marketing and sustainability teams. This dual role has allowed me to combine my expertise in digital marketing with my passion for sustainability, creating a truly fulfilling and impactful professional experience.

What's the biggest stretch opportunity you've taken on?

Being responsible for Latin America's digital marketing is the most significant stretch opportunity I've embraced so far. When I joined AD as an Internal Comms intern, this role didn't even exist on the team, and that was the turning point in my promotion.

In 2022, our regional digital presence was nonexistent. So, I  started creating one from the ground up, establishing processes for seamless execution. In the meantime, I needed to develop my English and Spanish skills, which wasn't just a personal goal but a strategic necessity. It enabled me to bridge communication gaps, collaborate effectively with global teams, and understand the nuances of a diverse market. This dedication to language learning was about more than just acquiring skills and demonstrating my commitment to understanding and connecting with the people I served.

It meant applying fresh university skills on the fly and learning from experienced managers. Challenging? Absolutely. Gratifying? Beyond measure.

Throughout my time at AD, I've embraced continuous learning and growth, which has prepared me for whatever challenges lie ahead—bringing everything together and bringing a team!

What role has mentorship played in your career?

Mentorship has played a pivotal role in my career. I strongly advocate for collaborative work and our company's 'never stop learning' philosophy. I'm fortunate to have strong and inspiring women as mentors, such as Thais Sacchi, who not only hired me but has continually impressed me since day one with her excellence, dedication, and wholehearted approach to everything she does. Fernanda Castro has been an exemplary leader, constantly guiding and supporting me through challenges. Mariana Bortulluci, a sustainability partner, is a constant source of inspiration and is always ready to lend a hand and offer valuable insights. The guidance and support from my mentors have been invaluable in shaping my professional growth and providing me with the direction and knowledge I need to succeed.

What's the best career decision you've ever made?

That's an easy one: Accepting the opportunity to represent Latin America in digital marketing has been the best career decision ever! This challenging opportunity has transformed me, and now I'm a better professional because of it.

As you think about the next steps in your career, what are the most essential actions you plan to take?

Looking ahead, I see a bright future in Latin American digital marketing. I'm excited to be part of its growth. My career next steps involve two phases: first, honing my skills to become a trusted expert in the field, and second, leveraging that expertise to establish and lead a dynamic digital marketing team. I focus on driving innovation and bridging the gap between the physical and digital. My passion for sustainability fuels my desire to positively impact society through meaningful projects such as AD Coopera. Throughout my time at AD, I've embraced continuous learning and growth, which has prepared me for whatever challenges lie ahead—bringing everything together and bringing a team!

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

What I love most about my job is the chance to make a difference in society. Take AD Coopera, for example; involvement in that project brings me so much joy. But it's not just about projects—it's about the people, too. Every day, I interact with people, hearing their stories, learning from their perspectives, and celebrating their unique backgrounds. It's the people that make our company unique. I'm grateful to be part of a team that truly values each individual and allows them to be themselves.
