What attracted you to your chosen work?

I’m drawn to this work because of its unique task diversity, every interaction requires adaptability and creativity. I aim to create a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, encouraging curiosity and problem-solving. I thrive on the autonomy to tailor responses combined with the opportunity for decision-making in finding the best solutions. Lastly, I enjoy the speed at which I can process and share knowledge, making every interaction dynamic and engaging. Every day, I come with a smile.

What skills did you develop early that are still useful today?

Early on, I developed the ability to handle task diversity, allowing me to adapt to a wide range of inquiries and challenges. Maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere has always been key to my interactions. The autonomy to approach problems flexibly, coupled with strong decision-making skills for crafting tailored responses, ensures effectiveness. Lastly, my focus on speed enables me to deliver accurate information quickly and efficiently.

How have you grown in your career at Avery Dennison?

I began my career as a subcontractor for the LuX 2 project, where I worked as a designer. Like other subcontractors, I also followed the installation of LuX 2 before joining Avery Dennison as a Continuous Improvement Technician.

After three years in this role, I transitioned to Project Engineer, a position I held for another three years. I then moved into maintenance as a Maintenance Coordinator for three years before shifting to production, where I served as a Coating Coordinator for four years.

Following that, I took responsibility for the process team for three years before joining the European team as Project Manager for the LuX Expansion project from 2016 to 2019.

Since the end of 2019, I have worked as the Coating & IL Manager.

What's the biggest stretch opportunity you've taken on?

Moving from the technical department to the production department, where we touch many more areas such as Quality, Finance, R&D, Sales & Marketing, etc.

What role has mentorship played in your career?

Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work with many coaches who have supported my development and helped me acquire a wealth of knowledge. During a few months, I participated in intensive mentoring sessions that fostered more profound self-development.

At this point in my career,"I've discovered the power of coaching others, delegation and trust;  managing processes and people effectively delivers far better results than trying to do everything myself.

One of the essential things is to continue to grow, invest, and develop my network. I am also eager to develop longer-term strategic thinking and get a global vision...

What’s the best career decision you’ve ever made?

The best decision of my career was to change jobs from a family business to a large group like Avery Dennison. This change, though not a primary aim from the start, unfolded over the years, revealing a path of slow but sure growth that has led me to my current role as production manager, and illustrating the power of long-term development. While I'm proud of how far I've come, I'm also excited to embrace new challenges and further develop my skills. And I'm eager to see where this journey of growth takes me next.

As you think about the next steps in your career, what are the most important actions you plan to take?

One of the essential things is to continue to grow, invest, and develop my network.

I am also eager to develop longer-term strategic thinking and get a global vision less focused on a single site but more on a divisional vision.

The most important thing is to remain attractive in the industry, both at the European and global levels.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

For the D2D, I emphasize the importance of diversity and autonomy. My role gives me the opportunity to interact with various departments, including quality, finance, marketing,  sales, production, technical, and process services. With over 20 years of experience at Avery Dennison, I have developed the ability to work independently when necessary while also benefiting from the support of a strong, collaborative team.

This balance of independence and teamwork is key to my role. It allows me to address immediate challenges and gives me the space to think long-term. This strategic perspective enables me to identify and implement the changes needed to keep us competitive over the long term.

Combining all those factors and people interactions allows me to come to work every day with a big smile.
